While my focus in illustration is usually on fleeting impressions of people, sometimes it’s good to concentrate on fine details and the joy of accuracy. Flowers are my favorite subject here because they offer so much room for interpretation in terms of color and shape.

What could be more beautiful and everlasting than a delicate illustration of a flower together with a greeting to a loved one? Floral watercolors are ideal for adding a special touch to elegant greeting cards. Together with calligraphy or lettering, a card designed in this way becomes a real gem that really shows its handcrafted character.

Flower illustration for live events

In my example, I arranged wildflowers with watercolors on a fine Hahnemühle paper to create a frame for a bride and groom’s favorite song line. This concept can be perfectly adapted for an event illustration by combining lettering with individual painted flowers. For example, it could be the favorite flower of a guest at an event, which is immortalized on a card together with a saying or greeting.

But not only watercolored flowers are a beautiful eye-catcher. Painted flowers can also be used with acrylic paints to beautifully decorate gift boxes or perfume bottles. And the proverbial blossoming with the paintbrush and a little color is certainly worth a moment of watching and therefore a great enrichment for an event.
