To mark the opening of the new Montblanc boutique on Berlin’s Ku’damm, I was on site for two consecutive days in December 2024 working as an illustrator, designing personalised Christmas cards for customers featuring calligraphic lettering and hand-drawn motifs.
Spontaneous ideas brought to life through illustration
In the elegant atmosphere of the new boutique, a special personalisation event was held, during which guests had the opportunity either to be surprised by spontaneous illustrations or to incorporate specific requests and ideas into the design. As a result, each card became a unique, one-of-a-kind piece with its own personal character.
Calligraphy and illustration combined
To create a cohesive visual theme despite the variety of motifs, all illustrations and lettering were rendered in a festive colour palette of black, gold, red and green. The combination of illustration and calligraphy gave the cards a classic, high-quality aesthetic that was perfectly suited to the Christmas season and the Montblanc brand identity.
Over the course of the two days, numerous personal works of art were created, which were given to customers to take home as a special memento and an exclusive gift.
