This work lies at the intersection of fashion illustration and fine art. The focus is not on the realistic depiction of a person, but on translating posture, charisma, and style into an expressive visual language. Areas of color, striking contrasts, and deliberately placed lines coalesce into a composition in which fashion becomes a vehicle for personality.
Transparent glazes meet thick, impasto-style brushstrokes
The combination of acrylic, chalk, and liquid watercolor creates a multi-layered surface where transparent glazes interact with impasto-like brushstrokes and graphic accents. Bold shades of pink, black, and green shape the face less through traditional shading than through a free, emotional interpretation of color. Fine yellow contour lines and visible brushstrokes lend the illustration additional dynamism and underscore the sketch-like character of the work.
The focus is on stripping things down to the essentials: the look, silhouette, and proportions become the defining design elements, while details take a back seat in favor of an atmospheric overall effect. Fashion does not serve as a decorative accessory here, but rather as an integral part of the composition and an expression of individual identity.
This work exemplifies my artistic approach, which views fashion illustration as an art form in its own right—a discipline that combines the precision of drawing with the freedom of painting, creating an emotional and contemporary interpretation of fashion and personality that goes beyond mere representation.
