In April 2024, the Almanac Palais Vienna invited me to Vienna to get to know the luxury boutique hotel firsthand and experience its unique blend of style, history, art, and cuisine. The hotel, which combines historic Viennese charm with modern design, provided an inspiring setting for an artistic exploration of atmosphere, space, and human connection.
Illustrative Snapshots
During my stay, I also had the special honor of facilitating an art therapy workshop using my artwork. In a quiet, creative setting, the participants created not only portraits of themselves but also numerous illustrative depictions of the hotel and its surroundings, which I had previously captured on camera.
Encounters and moods captured in drawings
These observations gave rise to a series of works that offer a personal interpretation of the Almanac’s atmosphere and elegance. The illustrations draw inspiration not only from the architecture, lighting, and interior details, but also from the unique tranquility and aesthetic of the house, as well as the people and encounters experienced there.
The project combined travel, observation, and illustration to create a visual snapshot of the hotel, bringing the Almanac’s unique atmosphere to life in an artistic way.
