To mark International Women’s Day, Adidas invited me to its flagship store on Ku’Damm in Berlin. Against a unique backdrop – right in the shop window of the large store – I photographed female customers, making their individual personalities the focus of the campaign.

Portraits in ink and wash

Surrounded by the lively atmosphere of the shop, both passers-by on the street and visitors inside the shop were able to watch as the portraits took shape step by step. Using ink and a brush, I sketched the participants live on site, bringing each drawing to life with just a few precise strokes.

An event with and for women

The campaign combined art, social interaction and the message of International Women’s Day: every female customer received a personalised portrait as a keepsake – a moment of appreciation, creativity and visibility for women in public spaces.

Photographer Geraldine Graf documented the event with her camera.
